Head of User Interface
Take the Interview is looking for a world class User Experience Director. In this role, you will be called upon to be a usability and site optimization guru and thought leader.
You will work closely with product management, creative, technology, marketing teams and others to come up with solutions that will enable customers to achieve their objectives. Your team will identify opportunities for improving user experience leverage web analytics and consumer research. You will lead development of user experience solutions
The right candidate will be passionate about making user's life easy by developing solutions that are cost effective, leverage mainstream technologies and work for mass market. S/he will bring a mix of hands-on work and leadership. S/he will have background in SaaS platforms.

Responsibilities
- Leads market research, usability and web analytics data analysis to formulate ideas on improving user interface designs
- Collaborates with product managers and other stakeholders throughout the company to pro actively gather and understand customers, and suppliers needs
- Leads pragmatic user centric design to eliminate bottle necks in the user experience
- Incorporate the necessary tools and best practices for a healthy UX function, including interaction models, user task flows, block diagrams, wireframes, etc.
- Develops and drives a pragmatic user-centered design approach within Product and the company overall
- Direct formulation of product optimization roadmap that defines what product optimizations the company will focus on over the next 12 months.
- Leads tracking and monitoring performance of product optimizations released to production
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to company processes related to product optimization and user interface design.
- Provides rich material for understanding our users through ongoing user research, testing and web analytics data analysis
- Translate usability, user research and web analytics findings into actionable and measurable design improvements
- Works with developers and QA engineers throughout the product development, testing, and implementation phases to ensure user interface integrity.
The right candidate will satisfy most (maybe not all) of the following requirements
- 5+ years of leadership experience with problem solving and delivery of creative solutions, while keeping focus on the business and customer requirements.
- 5+ years of interaction design / consumer research experience
- Deep understanding of different research techniques and what should be applied in what situation
- Deep understanding of different approaches of user centric design and what approach should be applied when
- Pragmatic in approach
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and influence the organization
- Can understand the systems enough to know what is technical possible and what would be very hard
- Good knowledge of web analytics tool is a plus
- A portfolio of innovative, practical, and inspiring work
- Deep hands-on experience developing successful web interfaces and compelling user experiences
- A strong and practical point of view on interaction design and UX
- Ability to mentor junior team members
